An incomparably helpful step towards finding personal peace is to believe in God. The Bible claims to be the word of God, and there are very strong evidences to verify that claim. It reveals that God exists and is the all-knowing and all-powerful Creator who will reward those who believe in Him. This runs counter to the thinking of so many people in our predominantly secular society who are confused, indifferent or sceptical about belief in God. The consequence of this is to be deprived of the saving message of the Bible and the opportunity to have peace with God.

There’s a wealth of information in the Bible about God and His momentous future intentions. For example, Isaiah 32:17 predicts the future time when “The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.” It also makes clear what response God and His Son Jesus Christ require of us and the superlative peace that we can obtain as a result.

If we set our minds on gaining an understanding of the God of the Bible and His plan of salvation the reward is unsurpassed. Our minds will be enlightened by an appreciation of His attributes, His past actions and His world-changing future intentions.  True peace can only be achieved by embracing a relationship of faith with God through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).
