World governments are deeply worried. Highly dangerous situations have suddenly come to prominence in the Middle East, in the Korean peninsular, and in European nations bordering Russia. Peaceful coexistence between the major powers is under threat.

United States direct intervention in Syria has brought its relationship with Russia to crisis point that could lead to an all-out war between them that would also involve their associated client states. The movement of NATO troops into nations bordering Russia further heightens tension between the western powers and Russia. These two situations have revived the dangerous “cold war” situation of former years. In addition, there is the ominous threat posed by North Korea flexing its nuclear muscles and goading the United States into taking actions which might have catastrophic consequences. Furthermore, an increasing number of nations have experienced the dangers of attacks made by fundamentalist Islamic terrorists. This is leading to the curtailment of principles that have governed western democracies and the election of “nationalistic” leaders and governments. These ominous developments have the potential to lead to ruinous warfare and the use of nuclear weaponry.

There is a solution to all of the world’s widespread problems, and God’s word, the Bible, tells us what is. It predicts that the world will emerge from insoluble crisis to become a glorified and peaceful place. The Bible tells us repeatedly that Christ will return to earth at this critical time and establish God’s Kingdom. He will reign over the entire world, vanquish evil and achieve peace on earth.
