Disturbing news reaches us virtually every day of fierce conflict in the Middle East that has drawn in the Western Allies and, more recently, Russia with its very opposing objectives. The root cause of open warfare is enmity between Arab peoples of different sects and a repressive regime. There is also the age-old and enduring issue of who has the right to live in the Holy Land with its consequent ongoing Arab hostility towards Israel. The fact is the land belongs to God and He has determined who should live in His land. Through His word, the Bible, God predicted the regathering of Jews to their ancient homeland, and today there are over six million Jews in the modern state of Israel. The Bible also foretold continuing enmity between Jews and Arabs and what the eventual peace-ensuring outcome will be.
