Middle Eastern nations are currently in a state of turmoil and violence provoked by sectarian religious extremism. Civil wars now being waged have already drawn in other combatants and have the potential to develop into lethally widespread conflict. These deadly threats have penetrated the African continent and are being felt in a number of Western nations too, causing serious anxiety and fear. Israel too is deeply worried about Arab warfare spilling over into its territory and the possibility of bringing to power regimes that are even more hostile towards its nationhood. It’s not possible to tell exactly where this upheaval will lead to in the short term. However, the Bible does predict that intervention by God will be the eventual dramatic outcome. God’s solution will ensure lasting worldwide peace by placing Jerusalem and Israel at the centre of His coming Kingdom on earth.
