The Bible contains a wealth of information about Jesus Christ in both the Old and New Testaments. Taken together, they show us that he was in the mind of his Father from the very beginning. His personal existence however began when he was born. The Bible describes Jesus as the only begotten Son of God, conceived by God’s power and born of the virgin Mary. Though of divine origin, he was a man who shared our nature and our temptations, yet he never sinned. The Bible tells us that he died for us, but not instead of us, was raised from the dead and has ascended to his God and Father in heaven. The Bible is emphatic that he will return to earth, at a time appointed by his Father, to raise the dead, and judge those who are accountable to God, and to be King of God’s Kingdom on earth.
