Middle Eastern nations are currently in a state of turmoil and violence provoked by sectarian religious extremism. Civil wars now being waged have the potential to draw in other combatants and to develop into lethally widespread conflict. These threats have already penetrated the African continent and are being felt in a number of Western nations too, causing serious anxiety. Israel too is deeply worried about Arab turmoil and warfare bringing to power regimes that are even more hostile towards it. It’s not possible to tell exactly where this upheaval will lead to in the short term. However, the Bible does predict that intervention by God will be the eventual dramatic outcome. God’s solution will ensure lasting worldwide peace by placing Jerusalem and Israel at the centre of His coming Kingdom on earth.
